This session would offer a UK perspective to complement any convention sessions covering international education in the context of TAFEs and colleges. The title and content are flexible and can be adapted to cover:
- Student visa and immigration policy in the UK
- Student mobility in the UK
- UK college engagement in international activity
The presentation would draw on information sources including:
- AoC’s annual reports on college international activity
- UK government data on international student trends and education export
The aim of the presentation would be to:
- Provide a UK perspective and how it compares/contrasts with Australia and other international education destinations.
- Outline some of the opportunities and challenges faced by UK colleges working internationally, particularly following Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Invite the audience to share views and best practice on themes such as student support and how to raise the profile of vocational education internationally.
