John D Flett
Doctor of Philosophy, Bachelor of Agriculture Science (Hons), Graduate Diploma Education, Graduate Certificate in Organisational Change, Diploma of Business Management, Diploma of Business Administration, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
John has over 30 years senior management experience in educational and training design for the vocational and secondary education systems in Australia. He has held a range of senior roles responsible for leading educational reform, teaching innovation, online learning and educational delivery services. These include Executive Manager of Education, Head of Innovation and Strategy, Head of Education Development, Centre Manager for Business Skills; and Regional Manager across three regional TAFEs. He has been a training provider representative on multiple industry training advisory committees, and three Victorian Local Learning and Employment Network boards.
The current focus of John’s work is on developing strategic projects to assist regional industries meet their workforce challenges, researching industry innovations – particularly those targetting the clean economy, new funding opportunities, and providing high level policy advice to the Board and executive team in relation to new government VET initiatives. In 2023 John undertook an International Specialised Skills Institute Fellowship study tour to the USA, Canada and the UK to look at how applied research models are being used in agriculture technology and renewable energy programs.
